Now, did you know it’s National Garlic Day on
April 19?
What garlicky foods do
you like: garlic bread, garlic pasta, garlic dips – I could go on forever. Did
you know garlic is native to Asia which dates back to 6,000 years? It’s also a
staple of Mediterranean diets and used in Africa, Asia and Europe cuisines.
China is now the world’s biggest producer of garlic. By the way, garlic is a
vegetable, very pungent and a member of the allium family (onion and leeks). It
usually used as a spice and not a vegetable because of its strong flavor.
Garlic is also healthy
for you. It’s linked to reducing or helping prevent four of the major causes of
death, including cancer, heart diseases, strokes and infections.
There’s a couple of thing

I’ll be attending a
writing retreat with Mary Martinez, Stanalei Fletcher, and Kyann Waters this weekend. I’m so
ready to do some writing since it’s been on hold for several months since my
sister is living with us and having cancer treatments. She’s moving forward – one day
at a time.
Have a great Spring.
